- Description: 2,5 billion years old, tiger iron represents a visual proof of the first living forms on our planet Earth. From the early Proterozoic, this is specimen of Marra Mamba iron formation with a broad chatoyant band, cut and polished to bowl form, highlighting an undulating fire-coloured colouration. The base is cut flat for display.
- Additional information: Found in Western Australia, this highly iridescent ironstone, is amongst the rarest and most colourful of all Tiger-eye. Probably stromatolitic in origin, this fossil is amongst the earliest signs of life on Earth, and as a semi-precious stone is also one of the most beautiful.
