  • Origin: Morocco
  • Size: H23cm W33cm D29cm
  • Weight: 27 kg
  • Description: Stony meteorites typically break apart or explode high in Earth’s atmosphere before impact; therefore, most specimens are small. This large, complete specimen is one of the exceptions. Displaying a thin layer of fusion crust, this complete meteorite also shows multiple regmaglypts aesthetically blanketing most of its surface. The meteorite comes with a custom-made wooden base.
  • Additional information: Chondrite, in general, any stony meteorite characterized by the presence of chondrules. Chondrule, small, rounded particle embedded in most stony meteorites called chondrites. Chondrules are usually about one millimeter in diameter and consist largely of the silicate minerals olivine and pyroxene. From textural and chemical relationships, they were formed at high temperatures as dispersed molten droplets, which subsequently solidified and aggregated into chondritic masses. This process occurred in space in earliest times before the planets accreted.
